WNCGBC hosts CiderFest NC 2016
The WNC Green Building Council will be hosting CiderFest NC 2016 this weekend. This is the fourth year for the cider tasting event, and it will feature local food, live music and, of course, great ciders! This year’s event will be held along the French Broad River at the Salvage Station – 468 Riverside Drive, on Saturday, October 15, from 1 – 5 PM. From cider lovers looking to sample sips from some of the nation’s best craft cider and mead makers, to families looking for kid-friendly fall activities, to area residents interested in supporting and learning more about sustainability, CiderFest really has something to offer everyone.
Come sample the ciders and meads from makers throughout the region and beyond, as well as taste small plate offerings from local vendors. CiderFest NC 2016 also includes fall festivities for the whole family: live music sprinkled throughout the festival, products to peruse, cider making seminars, and an interactive children’s area focused on green living. This year, attendees will receive a take home Tasting and Festival Guide to highlight differences in cider, ingredients, and origins and to take notes about the ciders sampled.
All proceeds will support the important work the WNC Green Building Council has been doing for the past 15 years in our community: promoting environmentally sustainable and health conscious building practices through community education and innovative programs. CiderFest is the WNCGBC’s largest annual fundraiser. To donate or learn more about green building and energy efficiency, visit wncgbc.org.
