Beadle at the Ramble

Asheville, NC
New Construction

This modern, Tudor-inspired home is designed to emphasize the views overlooking the Ramble forest. The open floor plan kitchen – dining – living area is vaulted to 12’, with windows on both sides. Windows up to ten feet high face the forest, and the smaller windows at the entry side allow for daylighting and ventilation while maintaining some sense of enclosure.
There are two bedrooms on the main level, each with its own suite. The master bedroom has a full glass walk-in shower to highlight the view, and a sliding translucent panel for privacy. The attached study opens onto a common terrace.
A thickened brick plane on the downhill side provides sun shading, and the 12” long bricks lend a modern feel, in keeping with the rest of the house, to the traditional material.
