FIRM PROFILE

Samsel Architects, P.A. has been producing award-winning design in and around the mountain city of Asheville, North Carolina since 1985. Our portfolio of work ranges from custom residences, inns, restaurants, and art galleries to medical facilities, and educational buildings. We have a wide range of experience based on successfully completing a variety of new construction, preservation, and rehabilitation projects. We are committed to incorporating environmentally sensitive and sustainable design principles in our work. Every design - whether set in the heart of downtown or in a rugged mountain landscape - draws on the special character of our region as well as the individual features of the project site. Western North Carolina's historic influences from afar produced a wealth of early 20th Century design which we continue to find inspiring. While we appreciate design from earlier times, we are careful to avoid mimicking history. We view the merging of architectural tradition with modern interpretation as a natural design evolution. Our designs become a new language of aesthetic, form and detail.
